![]() I have not gone to the lengths of manually installing GNS3 on Ubuntu or installing Qemu on Ubuntu to test it out. Attempting to use this ISO: Virtualbox Version 6.1.34 r150636 (Qt5.6. Kernel panic - not syncing: No working init found. Similar issues, but none of the fixes worked. I have attempted some different fixes but nothing appears to be working on getting my Ubuntu Server up and running in VirtualBox. If I either wait for it to boot automatically or click "Start Linux Mint" it takes a second and then comes up with the error message: ![]() That works, then the Virtual Box screen comes up, quickly after that it changes to the Linux Mint start screen saying "Welcome to Linux Mint 20 Cinnamon 64-bit" and below that options what to do. I started the machine and entered the previously downloaded file linuxmint-20-cinnamon-64bit. (Yes, I have exactly no clue what I'm doing.) ![]() Then I configured all the stuff they ask you. Choose another kernel from the GRUB menu under Advanced options for Ubuntu and run sudo update-initramfs -u -k version to generate the initrd for version (replace version with the kernel version string such as 4.15.0-36-generic) then sudo update-grub. I started a new machine in Virtual Box called it "Linux Mint", type Linux, Version other Linux (64-bit). You are missing the initramfs for that kernel. Downloaded the Linux Mint 64-bit ISO file? I don't have any experience in that sort of thing and don't even know how I barely passed my programming class last year. First up I don't even know if this is the right thread to post in, if not I'm sorry.įor my OS-class I need to install Linux Mint in Virtual Box.
